We’re currently looking for a full-time Billing Specialist to join our Accounting Department! The ideal candidate will have a solid background in Accounting. Great full-time first shift schedule of Monday-Friday 8am-5pm.

A day in the life of a Decker Billing Specialist looks like:

• Billing loads
• Answering phones and helping with questions
• Processing Proof Of Delivery requests and scanning paperwork
• Verifying paperwork is scanned with correct load
• Processing load paperwork; working with customers to complete missing paperwork
• Monitoring loads that involve or go into detention (the time a Driver waits past their appointment time)
• Reviewing Customer/Driver files, validating detention time taken and ensuring Drivers are paid appropriately
• Processing weekly Driver Detention pay out report
• Collaborating with Accounts Receivable to resolve past due detention revenue and assist with collections
• Completing web-based data entry
• Uploading invoices and backup paperwork
• Setting up new customers for invoicing
• Assisting with making washout and pallet decisions that are cost-efficient for the company; enter reimbursements of unloading, pallets and washouts
• Authorizing requests for a truck washes
• Other duties as assigned

Billing Specialist Must Haves

• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced professional work environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Good keypunch, communication and cross reference skills
• A background in MS Office
• Accounting Experience
• Payroll Experience

Billing Specialist Nice to Haves

• 2 year Accounting degree or equivalent working experience preferred
• Knowledge of McLeod Transportation Software, Payment websites and Desktop Deposit Services helpful
