Decker Truck Line, Inc. has an immediate need for an Entry Level Mechanic at our Fort Dodge terminal. Great working schedule of Monday-Friday 7am-3:30pm or 3-11:30pm (overtime and rotating Saturdays as needed). Willing to train the right candidate that has some basic related experience!

A day in the life of a Decker Entry Level Diesel Mechanic looks like:

• Prepping new trucks for driver assignment and current trucks for reassignments (flatbed moving to reefer and vice versa):
  • Remove bolts, anti seize the threads and reinstall the bolts on parts that have a history of issues. Install qualcomm, cb’s, and event records in trucks, install toolboxes, headache racks, as well as many other miscellaneous tasks.
• Inspecting and completing checklists of equipment to make sure they are ready for the road.
• Replacing brakes and installing side kits on trailers; training provided.
• Helping with some overflow from the tractor shop; training provided.
• Other duties as assigned.

Entry Level Diesel Mechanic Must Haves

• Must have own tools; tool lease program available if needed
• Valid driver’s license required
• Post job offer physical and drug screen required

Entry Level Diesel Mechanic Nice to Haves

• Mechanical and Electrical knowledge is a plus
• CDL preferred but not required
• Willing to train the right candidate that has some basic related experience!
