Entry Level Shop Assistant/Mechanic Technician Must Haves
- Willing to train the right person who is mechanically inclined and/or has some basic related experience!
- Tool lease or lease-to-own program available if needed
- Valid driver’s license required
- Basic computer knowledge for email and work orders, etc.
- Post job offer physical and drug screen required
Entry Level Shop Assistant/Mechanic Technician Nice to Haves
- 6+ Months of Auto or Diesel Mechanic experience is a plus
- Steel and Aluminum Welding experience is a plus
- Reefer experience is a plus
- CDL a plus but not required

Great schedule of Monday-Friday 1st shift 7am-3:30pm, Monday-Thursday 7:00am-5:30pm, or Monday-Friday 3:00pm-11:30pm, your choice! $3/hr shift differential for 2nd shift! $500 Bonus for entry-level Mechanic: $250 on first check, $250 after 90 days.

A day in the life of a Decker Entry Level Shop Assistant/Mechanic Technician looks like:
- Prepping new trucks for driver assignment and current trucks for reassignments (flatbed moving to reefer and vice versa):
- Remove bolts, anti seize the threads and reinstall the bolts on parts that have a history of issues.
- Install tablets, cb’s, and event records in trucks, install toolboxes, headache racks, as well as many other miscellaneous tasks.
- Inspecting and completing checklists of equipment to make sure they are ready for the road.
- Replacing brakes and installing side kits on trailers; training provided.
- Helping with some overflow from the tractor shop; training provided.
- Other duties as assigned.
