Decker Truck Line, Inc. has an opportunity available for an experienced individual to provide administrative support to the Vice President of Human Resources as a Human Resources Assistant at our beautiful Corporate Headquarters in Fort Dodge, IA.

Human Resources Assistant Responsibilities

  • Assisting with employee onboarding and training programs
  • Producing and posting job openings
  • Reviewing applicants, setting up and conducting interviews, and completing background and reference checks
  • Setting up pre-employment testing for new hires
  • Maintaining employee information electronically
  • Assisting with the drug and alcohol testing program
  • Assisting with unemployment claims such as letter writing and gathering documentation; participating as necessary
  • Assisting with FMLA, ADA, EEOC, FLSA and other regulatory compliance
  • Composing letters and meeting with employees when improvement is needed
  • Scanning, filing and data entry
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Great schedule of Monday-Friday 8am-5pm!

Human Resources Assistant Qualifications

  • The right person will be detail-orientated, able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Requires excellent communication and computer skills
  • Minimum 2 years HR experience required
  • Background in Word, Excel, and Outlook is required
  • An AA degree is required
  • A BA degree in HR or Management is preferred
